Office for Civil Rights Publishes Four Findings and Resolution Agreements for Disability Discrimination Cases: Florida, Michigan, and Nevada
OCR publishes four more findings and resolution agreements focused on disability discrimination. One of the complaints was filed in 2021 and three were filed in 2025.
Office for Civil Rights (OCR) added more 2025 findings and resolution agreements to the “Office for Civil Rights Recent Resolution Search” section on its site. This brings the total for 2025 to 170, of which 98 relate to disability discrimination. Four of the 98 were added in the last few days and focus on education institutions in Florida (filed in 2021), Michigan (filed in 2021 and 2025), and Nevada (filed in 2025).
Quick Review
Between January and mid-July 2025, OCR failed to post a single disability discrimination resolution within the “Office for Civil Rights Recent Resolution Search” section on its site. The site listed just eight total investigations for 2025—and none addressed disability discrimination.
In early July—without fanfare or explanation—OCR updated its public resolution database, jumping from eight to 53 resolution listings, 35 of which address disability discrimination. The published cases for 2024 and 2025 have continued to increase since then.
OCR doesn’t publish press releases for most findings, and its site has no “recently added” filter or marker showing what’s new. Some 2024 resolutions didn’t appear online until 2025. With cases listed only by agreement date or party name—not by upload date—there’s no way to track what was actually posted when. This forces families and advocates into a daily scavenger hunt just to monitor federal enforcement of disability rights—and it forces them to rely on the education agencies being forthcoming with information.
