Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE) was cited for five findings of noncompliance with Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B. U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) spelled out the violations in a February 23, 2026, letter and report. The issues include state regulations, procedural safeguards, and complaint procedures that are inconsistent with IDEA, as well as noncompliance related to mediation and due process.
